“I began working with ceramics shortly after entering university. It has now been sixteen or seventeen years, and this is the only profession I have ever pursued.

As a teenager, I was fascinated by fire, water, clay, and other fundamental elements of nature. I have always been drawn to understanding things at their most essential level.

That instinct continues to shape my ceramic practice. I focus intently on line, texture, and character; structure, function, and detail; as well as materials, firing, and technique—the intrinsic qualities of the vessel itself. I prefer not to tell elaborate stories about my work; instead, I let the objects themselves—their form, function, materials, and craftsmanship—remain the focus.”
