White Porcelain Sake Server
Created by Japanese ceramic artist Nami Takahashi, this white porcelain sake server is formed by slip-casting, then carefully refined and finished by hand.
Sweeping sculptural ridges wrap around the rounded body, creating shifting lines of light and shadow. A softly undulating rim draws into a single pouring lip, giving this handleless vessel the distinctive form of a katakuchi, a traditional Japanese pouring vessel.
Made for pouring sake into individual cups, it brings a quiet sculptural presence to the table. The white porcelain provides a restrained setting for the ritual of serving and sharing sake.
Each piece varies naturally in form, dimensions, and finish.
