The exterior is finished with a Wujin (black-gold) glaze, presenting a deep coffee-toned luster. This premium pure black glaze is colored with iron oxide, making it exceptionally difficult to fire and resulting in a low yield. Each piece emerges uniquely from the kiln — no two are exactly alike.
The foot of the cup is intentionally left unglazed, revealing the raw clay body to increase friction and ensure stable placement.
Due to the matte textured glaze, avoid rubbing with medium or hard abrasive materials, as this may cause staining or surface marking. It is recommended to clean promptly after use to prevent coffee residue buildup. Dishwasher safe; if washing by hand, place a rubber sink mat or thick towel at the bottom of the sink to prevent damage.
